Teaching Students with Challenging Behaviour

Sometimes we can find a student’s behaviour confusing when our usual strategies don’t work.  This workshop will give you a deeper understanding of the purpose of certain behaviours and tools to help both you and your students.  We will explore:

  1. the functions of behaviour (what need your student is trying to meet),
  2. the difference between misbehaviour and “stress” behaviour,
  3. and proactive strategies for reducing challenging behaviour.

You will increase your understanding of the basics of  positive behaviour supports and take away a new lens through which to view your student’s words and actions.
