Sometimes we can find a student’s behaviour confusing when our usual strategies don’t work. This 2 hour workshop will give you a deeper understanding of the purpose of certain behaviours and tools to help both you and your students. We will explore:
- the functions of behaviour (what need your student is trying to meet),
- the difference between misbehaviour and “stress” behaviour,
- and proactive strategies for reducing challenging behaviour.
You will increase your understanding of the basics of positive behaviour supports and take away a new lens through which to view your student’s words and actions.
